In-House Extracted Soybean Protein Can Reduce the Enzyme Dosage in Biomass Saccharification

چکیده
Bioconversion of the complex carbohydrates present in lignocellulosic biomass into simple sugars, order to obtain biofuels and bio-based products, is still limited by low performance enzymatic saccharification reaction high cost cellulolytic enzymes. Low-cost additives such as soybean protein can reduce unproductive adsorption cellulases onto lignin, increasing conversion rates reducing enzyme losses. Here, investigation was made effects different fractions, extracted in-house, on hydrothermally pretreated sugarcane bagasse. The glucose released during increased up 76% presence in-house protein, compared control (without additive). A remarkable finding that technique allowed loading be decreased four-fold. results suggested alkali-extracted proteins presented surface hydrophobicity, which enhanced their interaction with lignin reduced binding cellulases. Among main glycinin had best effect improving saccharification, could have been due its higher hydrophobicity. Hence, seem interesting alternative capable efficiency future biorefineries.

Immobilized Enzyme System for Lignocellulosic Biomass Saccharification
The overall objective of this research is to enhance the bioactivity of cellulase enzymes as well as the stability of the enzymes to increase it reusability through immobilization of the enzymes in the microenvironment of porous inorganic-organic hybrid sol-gel polymers. Recently, we have discovered that the microenvironment of these sol-gel polymers markedly increases the bioactivity of immobi...
متن کاملStrategies for enzyme saving during saccharification of pretreated lignocellulo-starch biomass: effect of enzyme dosage and detoxification chemicals
Two strategies leading to enzyme saving during saccharification of pretreated lignocellulo-starch biomass (LCSB) was investigated which included reducing enzyme dosage by varying their levels in enzyme cocktails and enhancing the fermentable sugar yield in enzyme-reduced systems using detoxification chemicals. Time course release of reducing sugars (RS) during 24-120 h was significantly higher ...

Background: The oxidation of unsaturated lipids by free radicals is one of the main causes of food deterioration. The major purpose of the present study was to determine effectiveness of application of honey in order to reduce oxidation in soybean oil. Methods: Six groups were designed, including control (soybean oil emulsion without preservative), positive control (butylated hydroxyl toluene ...
متن کاملMaize feedstocks with improved digestibility reduce the costs and environmental impacts of biomass pretreatment and saccharification
BACKGROUND Despite the recognition that feedstock composition influences biomass conversion efficiency, limited information exists as to how bioenergy crops with reduced recalcitrance can improve the economics and sustainability of cellulosic fuel conversion platforms. We have compared the bioenergy potential-estimated as total glucose productivity per hectare (TGP)-of maize cultivars contrasti...
